In our previous discussion, we recapped the associated HJB equations for the worker, the firm, and the joint surplus generated upon matching. Subsequently, we derived the wage rate through the Nash bargaining process. Building on this, we derived the ODE governing inequality dynamics and examined inequality under identical fundamental characteristics. Furthermore, we described the law of motion for employed workers, which, together with the laws of motion for AI and joint surplus, constituted the dynamic system that characterizes the equilibrium. Finally, we summarized the dynamics of the economy and examined three distinct model specifications based on whether we endogenized labor productivity or the job-finding rate.

本期预告

We will characterize the equilibrium conditions under a simple model with two exogenous parameters that guarantee closed-form solutions. Specifically, we will first defin the steady states in three cases-some AI, unbounded AI, and no Al-under different parameter settings and will discuss the associated comparative statics. Subsequently, we will characterize global determinacy, which shows that the steady state exists and is unique. Next, we will identify local determinacy conditions for a unique saddle path. Finally, we will characterize the constrained efficient allocation under the social planner's problem and derive a time-varying Hosios condition, which helps replicate the efficient allocation in a decentralized economy and differs starkly from the Hosios condition in the canonical SAM model.
